In the Buddhist and Hindu tradition, the mala is used as a support for prayers.

In meditation, it allows absolute concentration when reciting the various mantras. Its beads give off a positive energy that will transport you into a state of intense relaxation. Each mala has additional virtues depending on its composition.

The mala necklace is therefore always made of a number of beads related to the number 108. The number 108 has a special meaning in the Buddhist tradition. In particular, it is the number of trials that Buddha had to undergo before he attained spiritual enlightenment.

In the Hindu and Buddhist tradition, Rudraksha beads are the oldest meditation beads. They are considered sacred in many cultures. Also called “Shiva’s tears”, these beads are actually the seeds of an Elaeocarpus angustifolius tree. They are a symbol of compassion and spirituality, they purify our thoughts and give us a peaceful mind.

The turquoise pearl will protect you when you travel. It is considered a good luck charm and a healer. It gives you beauty and joy of living, as its clairvoyance keeps you awake.

Red jasper beads connect to the earth. They stimulate our independence, creativity and imagination. They restore our life force and awaken the warrior in us.

This necklace resonates with different chakras, of which the following are the main characteristics:

  • The root chakra, or base chakra (1st), brings us a great connection with the Earth and our main needs. It is the chakra of foundation and grounding
  • The solar plexus chakra (3rd) helps us to put our talents to use in the world and pushes us to find our fulfillment. It is synonymous with willpower
  • The heart chakra(4th) teaches us the wisdom of love. Love of self and others. This feeling is always healing
  • The throat chakra (5th) allows us to communicate in purity and opens the door to self expression

Care instructions
Upon receiving your mala, you can either wear it right away or pass on your intentions to it. The sacred beads will then carry energy, a kind of connection will link you with your necklace. For this, we recommend the following ceremony:

  • Monday is the sacred day dedicated to Shiva. So start wearing your mala on this first day of the week
  • Find a quiet place, conducive to relaxation
  • Light a stick of incense to help your mind and body relax
  • Once you have reached a level of serenity, cleanse each of the beads in your mala. Take time to convey your intentions to them and imagine that they are protecting you and bringing you inner peace
  • Repeat the mantra “OM HREEM NAMAH SHIVAYA OM” which represents the tears of Shiva
  • All that remains is for you to wear your mala and enjoy its benefits.

By wearing your mala regularly, the beads will absorb a lot of energy. From time to time, it is necessary to discharge them in order to start over. To do this, open your tap and position the necklace under running water. Touch each bead with the intention of cleaning it. To dry it, it is best to hang the necklace outside. Once dry, a little natural oil on each bead will give them a shine.
