The India model is the traditional yoga and meditation mat. It is hand-woven by the women of a cooperative in Kerala using traditional cotton techniques under respectful social and working conditions.
The cotton fibres are dyed with plant pigments in the Ayurvedic tradition:
A thin cover of natural hevea ensures it stays firmly in place on the floor (bottom layer). It will stay in place whatever your movements, including the jumping transitions between 2 postures in the ashtanga sequence.
Very lightweight, it’s ideal for transporting to the studio or when travelling, and comes in a range of colours.

A beautiful traditional rug, appreciated for its artisanal origin (hand-woven by the women of a cooperative in Kerala, southern India), its natural 100% organic cotton material and its minimalist aesthetic.
The underside of this cotton rug is coated with rubber tree sap, to ensure it sticks to the floor.
This mat has no other grip than the relief caused by the weave, so it requires a conscious physical commitment and is suitable for advanced yogis. On the other hand, it is suitable for all types of gentle practice, such as Restorative Yoga or Meditation.
If necessary, spray the India mat with a special dye-free yoga mat spray in reasonable quantities.
If your India mat is particularly dirty, we advise you to hand wash it by soaking it in cold water and adding a little very mild detergent for just 5 minutes. Then rinse it well in cold water and squeeze gently to remove the water. You can machine wash it occasionally, but be careful, as the natural colour pigments may bleed through.
Leave it to dry completely, laid flat and out of direct sunlight.
And if we choose to leave it on the floor between 2 practices, it makes a brilliant contribution to the atmosphere in our living room or bedroom.

Kundal – Conscious yoga and wellness clothing and accessories for everyone
As a Kundalini yoga practitioner, Maia has created her own brand to offer items produced in India by artisans she knows personally and with whom she works on a long-term basis. She favours handicrafts, organic cotton and natural vegetable dyes.
For the carpets, Maia works with a cooperative of Kerala women whose aim is to “survive in the jungle of the textile industry”.
In addition to the carpets, the YOGANEST boutique in Carouge offers a range of traditionally cut 100% cotton Kundal garments for men and women.
