As for the properties of this Mala, smoky quartz is considered to be the stone of refocusing and responsibility, bringing greater lucidity and grounding in the earth. This necklace is a limited edition made from Rudraksha beads, obsidian stone and smoky quartz. The Rudraksha pearls are sustainably harvested in India, and the necklaces and bracelets are then hand-assembled in Bali under socially responsible working conditions.
Rudraksha beads are used to create malas. A mala is a prayer aid traditionally used in the Buddhist and Hindu religions. It helps to concentrate the mind on reciting the mantras.
For this necklace, small-diameter pearls have been selected and the semi-precious stones have been used to create a necklace with a highly refined aesthetic, more suited to ornamental jewellery than to meditation. The obsidian and smoky quartz gems have been chosen for their particular virtues.
Obsidian: of volcanic origin, this stone is used here in its shiny black version for the Mala counterpart. It is very high in silica. Obsidian is thought to promote inner peace and calm the soul, as well as openness to the intellect. Like other volcanic stones with a strong connection to the earth, it is particularly good for the 1st chakra (root), and also the 6th (throat).
Smoky quartz: transparent black with brown accents, this type of quartz is used for the small beads that alternate here with gold and rudraksha beads. It is considered to be a stone that helps us to reconcile our areas of darkness and light, calming our strong emotions and promoting greater lucidity and stability. Among many other benefits, it is also said to relax muscular tension and stimulate the 1st chakra.
These two stones resonate particularly well with the first chakra, the root chakra.
