Traditionally, in Buddhism and Hinduism, the mala is used as a support for prayers.

In the practice of yoga, the mala is often used in meditation. Placed in the hand, with the beads held between the fingers, it allows absolute concentration when reciting your various mantras. The positive energy emanating from the beads will be enough to transport you into a state of intense relaxation. Each mala can of course bring you additional virtues depending on its composition.

The number 108 has a special meaning in the Buddhist tradition, as it is the number of trials that Buddha had to go through before reaching spiritual enlightenment. The mala necklace is therefore always made of a number of beads related to the number 108.

In the Hindu and Buddhist tradition, Rudraksha beads are the oldest meditation beads. They are considered sacred in many cultures. Also called “Shiva’s tears”, these beads are actually the seeds of a tree.

Carnelian beads allow us to direct our creation and help us to bring out our emotions through their connection to the sacral chakra.

Each necklace is handmade with authentic and natural beads. Each mala is therefore unique, no two are the same.

Care instructions
When you receive your mala, you have two choices: wear it immediately, or transmit your intentions to it. The sacred beads will then carry energy, a kind of connection will link you with your necklace. For this, we recommend the following ceremony:

  • Monday is the sacred day dedicated to Shiva. So start wearing your mala on this first day of the week
  • Find a quiet place where you can relax
  • Place some flowers in a container of water and immerse your mala in it
  • Light a stick of incense to help your mind and body relax
  • Once you have reached a level of serenity, clean each of the beads in your mala. Take time to convey your intentions to them and imagine that they are protecting you and bringing you inner peace
  • Repeat the mantra “OM HREEM NAMAH SHIVAYA OM” which represents the tears of Shiva
  • All that remains is to wear your mala and enjoy its benefits.

By wearing your mala regularly, the beads will absorb a lot of energy. It is therefore necessary to discharge them from time to time in order to start afresh. To do this, open your tap and place the necklace under running water. Touch each bead with the intention of cleaning it. To dry it, it is best to hang the necklace outside. Once dry, a little natural oil on each bead will give them a shine.
